Leica Q2 Compact Digital Camera
The newly developed Leica Q2 is an advanced compact digital camera that features much-awaited upgrades to its sensor and settings while retaining many of its well-loved optical features. For one, its 47.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor has 95% more pixels, allowing it to produce bigger prints with more details and better quality videos with a maximum resolution of 4096 x 2160 (Cinema 4K) at 24 frames per second. This resolution improvement allows the use of Crop Modes to simulate the use of lenses with longer focal lengths and achieve much narrower fields of view. With support for UHS memory cards (UHS-II), ultra high read and write speeds are ensured, especially with the continuous shooting rate increased to 20fps. The magnesium alloy body has also been environmentally sealed to allow shooting under harsh weather conditions. The same wide-angle Summilux 28mm ASPH prime lens with a bright maximum aperture of f/1.7 and three aspherical elements offers exceptional low-light shooting performance and match the improved sensor design. The 3.68MP OLED EVF and 3-inch 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD have also been retained to offer clear eye-level views and convenient playback and control of the camera.

The Leica Q2's IP52-certified weather sealing protects
the camera from dust, rain and water spray and
ensures users can photograph under challenging
environmental conditions. The adoption of the BPSCL4
battery from the Leica SL boosts battery life by
30% over the original Leica Q, and its built-in rubber
gasket further helps seal the Q2. This level of
weather-sealing is usually reserved for pro-level
cameras such as the Leica SL and Leica S, putting
the Q2 at that similar level of resilience, and is
especially helpful under challenging environmental
